Mine to Love (Allie's First Month)

It was a typical February day. Mason and I headed off to therapy. I looked back at his smiling face ready to tackle anything Miss Jodie and Miss Amy threw at him. As we were stopped at a light, I asked the Lord once again to give me encouragement with the adoption process. As I continued to pray, this song by Dave Barnes came on the radio. Of course as I listened to the words, tears rolled down my face.

By the time we arrived at therapy, I was a mess. I handed Mason off and went and sat back in my car. I openedmy Bible and began to read in John 14. In these verses, Jesus is bringing comfort to the disciples. He knew that in a matter of days he would pay the ultimate price for our sins. As they asked questions and were unsure of what their future would hold, He gave them the following words:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

As I read the chapter and put myself in their shoes, I realized at that moment their world was changing. Faith was going to take on a whole new meaning.. Daily we have to have faith knowing that God holds our precious dreams right in the palm of His hand. We matter to Him!! He cares about our every worry and cry.

I know as I’m writing this blog, there are many families that are still in the waiting stage of life. Waiting is not easy. Whether it is a child, spouse, diagnosis, I want to encourage you to not give up on the dreams and desires God has put in your heart. He is writing an amazing story for you to share.
