Sleep study went well and showed us several things. First, he has central apnea. This means that his brain forgets to tell his body to breathe when he is in REM sleep. It also means that he has very shallow breathing. However, the majority of the time he does great. They are sending us home on an Apnea Monitor and possibly Oxygen. They will make the decision about O2 tomorrow. Tomorrow morning he will be going under
anesthesia again to do an MRI on his brain and brain stem. They are looking for something in his brain stem that could be causing this. (It has a name I just can't remember what it is :) ) If he has this, it would cause these episodes to increase and will eventually
need neurosurgery to take it out. Also this could explain the severe reflux etc. We will remain here until Tues and then hopefully go home. I will be in Orlando all week training and driving back and forth. I will update the blog as soon as I can. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of encouragement. Have a blessed week!
This looks like a comfortable way to sleep?????? What a trooper. :)

Bless his heart, he is such a trooper, what an incredible little guy!! We will continue to lift you guys up Wendy - you are loved!!
hey wendy, kev and mason~
My heart aches to be with you right now...it's almost like mason is my own..i think that's because precious ella has so many of the same issues... I am ACTUALLY FEELING the emotions that I would be feeling if it were my daughter having to undergo these tests. It is an awesome thing to see the Lord's handiwork in all of this... the sleep study discovering the apnea...the MRI possibly discovering the brain stem anamoly which would then need surgery to correct the apnea and hopefully some of the reflux issues. And to think of the lives you are touching while at ACH and. Just like Ella, May May is our little missionary. I love the thought that the Lord has always used the unlikely, the weak, the broken, the unable, to be vessels which carry His Glory and Power and Good News to the world...so that His Name alone would be glorified. Paul, Hen, Ella and I love you guys and are walking this walk with you every step of the way. We love you.
I have been reading your blog since Mason was born!!! Please forgive me for just now commenting. I didn't know how you would feel about a stranger visting. But I have been praying for your tough little guy for a long time.
Is the condition they are looking for in the MRI, Chiari (kee-ar-ee)Malformation? If so, I have a daughter with this condition.
I will continue to pray for Mason and your family....
